We wanted to go on vacation spontaneously not far away and without PCR tests, after a bit of googling around we decided on Barcelona. I am not a spontaneous person but it was a different experience to book and plan everything within 10 days. Surprisingly it was a lot of fun.

The flight was Tuesday lunchtime and the Sunday before we did the paperwork for entry and booked some attractions.

Monday evening we packed and Tuesday we left. The flight was only 1h30 min, from the airport we took a cab to the hotel. We were at the Hotel Colon the best decision, we had everything close by. We spent the afternoon with exploring the area. We bought a “4 day Hola-Barcelona Travel card” which we could use for all the public transportation.

For Wednesday we booked a “Camp Nou Player Experience Tour”. A 3 hours guided tour of the stadium. It was a good tour Shayan had a lot of fun to see everything behind the scenes.

After the stadium we went to the “Park Güell” which was designed by Gaudi a perfect park to walk around.

Thursday morning we went to the “Sagrada Familia”, once you were inside you could download the app for the tour through a QR code and then do the tour by yourself.

In the afternoon we wen to the “Casa Battlò” for the tour you got a tablet with headphones. We were a little bit skeptical at the beginning if it is something for the little one but he was fully interested.

Friday we went first to “Montjuïc” one of the local mountain of Barcelona, we took the cable car up and did a walk. After that we went to the second local mountain “Tibidabo”, there was a church on the mountain and you had a beautiful view over Barcelona.

Saturday was shopping day as our hotel was near the “Plaça de Catalunya” we could do everything by foot.

The restaurants we have always chosen through Google or tripadvisor which was the best decision, it was also good that we have done the attractions during the week because it can come to long lines on Saturday.

The rest we booked spontaneously on the spot or via the app.

It’s a beautiful city with many options, not only suitable for families but also for women’s trips
